From the days of Aboriginal settlement to the present, all inhabitants of Australia have had difficulties obtaining water and managing droughts. However, in modern times we have learnt more about the land, enabling us to manage such issues more effectively. Also contributing to the history of our country, was the establishment of the Snowy Hydro Scheme. Immigrants were purposely brought over to Australia to help construct this water-supplying plant. This has helped shape Australia into the culturally diverse nation we have today. |
